Whenever I come to the desert, my spirits lift. When clouds gather above it, all feels well.

From times long past until today, my love for it grows within me every day.

Honourable people once lived in this desert. From them we learned our customs and ways.

We follow the path of the faithful. Our true character is revealed when we are needed most.

The sight of the desert soothes a troubled heart. I have come here in the cold and in the scorching winds.

My thoughts carry me away, I know not where, while I place my hope in a generous and merciful Lord.

O night, linger. Let us stay with those we love, awake beneath the moonlight and the stars.

The weather is fair, and so are the spirits of dear friends whose conversation lifts our worries.
